I love plants! They're beautiful, they make me happy and are good for our health. Unfortunately, I'm not really good with plants and I understand that it's difficult to think about having pots all over when you have a small apartment (oh hey NY friends!). But whether you have a green thumb and a lot of space or not, you can definitely add some green into your life. Here are 5 examples of plants that are small, work well indoors and are almost impossible to kill:

The Chinese Evergreen is a great option for a house plant as it's super easy to care for and doesn't need a lot of light. It's happy in the shade and it'll still grow even if it's only source of light is artificial light. It's also a forgiving plant if you happen to over water it.

The Rubber Plant can be a tabletop plant or grown to a beautiful indoor tree. They like bright light but not direct sunlight. Keep the soil moist during the summer and mist the leaves. During winter it'll only need water once or twice per month.

If you want to add a pop of color to a room, the African Violet is a great option. They love indirect light and are perfect for your apartment or office. Keep their soil always moist and well drained and you're good to go!

With it's luscious green foliage, the Prayer Plant (Maranta or Calathea) is native to tropical forests of Central and South America. They like indirect sunlight and warm temperatures which makes them perfect indoor plants. Keep their soil moist and well drained.

Kalanchoes are a type of succulent houseplant that blooms. They are super colorful and land their blooms last for a while bringing some life into your home. Find a bright spot with lots of natural light, water only when dry and they will stay happy.
